About the dentist
Rasa Smilgevičienė is a dentist working in Klaipėda who, together with her husband Lauras Smilgevičius, founded Miško Dental Clinic in 2014. She has held a dentist licence since 2008, so her clinical practice spans more than 18 years.
Rasa studied dentistry at Vilnius University. In her own words, from the very end of her studies she "purposefully went deeper into endodontics, attended courses, kept developing and followed every new development", so today the more complex root canal cases at the clinic usually come to her.
Beyond endodontics, Rasa works with restorative and aesthetic dentistry: she places fillings, restores function and the natural shape of the tooth, and takes on cases that call for both technical precision and aesthetic sensitivity. Within the clinic team she is known as a dentist who talks slowly, calmly and at length with the patient before any treatment begins.

Dr Rasa Smilgevičienė holds a general dentist licence of the Republic of Lithuania. She does not hold a separate narrow endodontist specialty in the register of the Lithuanian Chamber of Dentists; all of her knowledge in endodontics was gained through consistent professional development and courses.
The dentist’s own words on root canal treatment
"Root canal treatment is, to my mind, one of the most demanding areas of dentistry. And there are plenty of difficulties here. For example, a patient often comes in with an aching tooth, having not slept for several nights, exhausted, full of painkillers, in such pain that their head feels ready to split. Or the opposite: the person feels nothing, everything seems fine to them, yet the X-ray shows an abscess quietly sitting there. It needs treating, but the person does not want to, because it does not hurt. Ah. All I can do is sigh.
At least these days we have the means to help a patient effectively, but the treatment is expensive, takes a long time and needs more than one visit. When treating canals, care is essential: you cannot rush here, the work must be done to within a millimetre."

- Dentist licence no. OPL-02635 Issued on 1 July 2008, stamp no. OD001068. Status: active. Last supervisory order dated 2 January 2024 (no. T1-4).
- Membership of the Lithuanian Chamber of Dentists Membership is mandatory for every dentist practising in Lithuania. Dr Rasa is registered in the Chamber’s public register of specialists.
- Continuous professional development in endodontics The dentist openly acknowledges that endodontics is the direction in which she has purposefully invested time and courses throughout her career. A specific list of courses can be added in future.
